Velocity Price Projections for March Soybeans

Brad Cowan and W.D.Gann put across the idea that market velocity could be useful to project future price targets. In this short post we present several price projections using market velocity for March soybeans.

Velocity Price Projections

Figure 1 is a daily price time chart for March soybean futures with an indicator of market velocity. Market velocity was used to project future price targets. From Figure 1 it can be seen that several of these price target projections were reached on Jan 30th at 955¢ per bushel from where a reaction followed.

Daily prices for March soybeans futures from 2014-2015 and velocity indicator. Market velocity is used to project future prices as mentioned by Cowan and Gann.

The fact that the market rallied upon reaching this target doesn't mean we are in the presence of a market bottom. Figure 1 shows there are several other projections targeting a level around [923¢, 929¢] which are close to the October 2014 bottom at 920 3/4¢.

  1. Another important element that GANN was using was the eclipse positions of the planets.
i.e- Jupiter will be at 17 deg LEO 10th Feb, which is the same position it was when the last eclipse fell. Could see a marked move or CIT on this day.
    Geocentric calculations used

  2. Interesting, I hardly ever use geocentric positions. Let's keep an eye on that date.

On a similar note we had a small harmonic of the 12yrs cycle due between Feb/04-11. But it is a small harmonic and not very reliable.

  3. To be honest, neither do I. If gann was using it then it was for good reason.
I have done some research into this and yes, quite often it marks an important CIT

Generally I use helio, and of late, vedic.

    1. re vedic: do you use natal charts and apply vedic methods as yogas or the Vimshottari dasa system?

  4. Currently I'm not using natal. Time does not permit. I am only using Vedic to make general predictions about worldly events
Yogas at the moment, but both eventually

  5. Using natal charts always seemed to me to be a bit of a problem regarding market analysis. The idea of using Zodiacal Releasing for market analysis crossed my mind at one point, but a natal chart is needed, and as you say, it is time consuming.

  6. Yes I agree.
Astrology can only give you a piece of the puzzle. I think it's more detailed than that.
Numerology is my area of focus. Brads work and GANNs vibration analysis is my main studying point

  7. Soybeans have rallied 40 points + since Jupiter hit the sensitive degree in the zodiac.
GANN was watching 90 deg after this date for sun, moon.

    1. Yes, I noticed!

There is another eclipse on Mar 20, 2015. That would override the effect of the previous eclipse or are you expecting a similar behavior once Jup goes direct and touches that degree again?

  8. Yes the next eclipse will override
Take note of Jupiters position at the time of the eclipse and watch when it touches that point again in Retrograde
It only works with Geo because of the retro grade motion

I have a very useful document for you about this material, if ur interested

    1. As I told you before I hardly use geo position for market analysis. But I am interested in the material.

Do you have a link or are you sending it by email?

  9. Yes, I do remember you saying that
GANN was using this method, it must count for something

    1. Thanks for the document Steve.

I still haven't read it, just gave a quick glance and it looks interesting. As soon as I do, I will let you know.
